Question 1: Is a Fashion Group International membership required to submit an entry?
Answer: No, the contest is open to the public.
Question 2: May I submit a photo made before this Call for Entries started?
Answer: Yes, as long as the team members live in the St. Louis area and other rules are met.
Question 3: Must photo entries be only B&W?
Answer: Yes, however some process manipulation is allowed, including collage, spot hand coloring, pseudo-solarization, and B&W print toning effects, like Sepia, Selenium, Gold and Platinum. Photos that include the use of stock photos and/or AI generated images are not permitted.
Question 4: How will the selected photographs be displayed?
Ten photo entries picked by the jury will be printed 32" x 60" and exhibited at the Contemporary Art Museum - St. Louis in the FGI Met Gala Watch Party area.
Question 5: May an entry be a collage?
Yes. In terms of photography, a collage is an assemblage of two or more images to make one final image. The technique can be pasting prints together, multiple exposures in the camera or during darkroom printing, or combining layers in a digital editor, like Photo Lab or PhotoShop.
Question 6: May a team submit more than one photo?
No, Teams may submit only one photo. But you may join a different team. For instance, if you are a designer, partner with a different photographer and model to submit more work.
